Upgrading from iLife 08 to 09?

Hi
My copy of iLife 09 arrives tomorrow. What is my safest approach to installing it? Is there an upgrade option (that works)? or should I back up my iPhoto 08 library, uninstall 08 completley and then clean install 09?
