upgrading graphic card

ive been thinking aabout upgrading fro a long time, i have mac pro 1.1 with NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256 MB. id eventually like to be able to upgrade to El Capitan. so what all is involved. also, i have four NVIDIA GeForce 7300 cards, in the upgrade do i then need to remove all four of them and just leave the upgraded one.
 
thinking about using a Radeon HD 5770. concern is if i have to remove all four of my old NVIDIA cards, will they cause a problem after i install the Radeon HD 5770
