Upgrading Hard Drive Question on MBP

After getting a new machine, is it just a matter of taking out the old 750GB drive sticking in the new blank drive, and inserting the install disc? Or is there more to it.

You have to format the new drive first, but after that it's just a matter of installing the OS.
