So i am currently in the process of buying some new hardware to upgrade my tiny little Powerbook.
I have 1.0 ghz 12" G4 powerbook with a meir 512 or RAM.

I am currently looking online to double the RAM in my computer...Also i am looking to upgrade my hard drive space. If i buy an external hard drive will i be able to run programs off of it? i use my laptop for various music productiona and djing and image enhancing...Is it possible to upgrade the internal hard drive as well? or am i just living in fantasy land with these ideas?

Check the apple support forums and ifixit.com. You should be able to do both. How hard it will be, that's another question.
