Upgrading HD of Late '08 15" MBP - Recommendations needed!

Hi,

Firstly I've done a search of the forum, but as I'm sure you'll appreciate the phrase "hard drive" occurs in quite a few threads...

I'm looking at replacing the "pathetically small" 250Gb internal drive with a 500Gb, probably sticking with 5400rpm as I don't want a faster drive to suck my battery life.

I'm also in the market for a caddy (ideally FW800) to plug my old drive into so as I can use it as an external drive.


Does anyone have any recommendations for either of the above, and can anyone recommend any good sellers in the UK?

Can anyone recommend any good makes of 500Gb internal drives? I need to buy one ASAP!

Take your pick. I prefer Western Digital - they make awesome drives.

I got this one and love it, however it's a 7200rpm which you said you didn't want;

I upgraded form the stock 250Gb Apple provided and my battery life has not changed - the only thing that changed is the better performance and more storage space
