Upgrading HDD with VMWare installed

I'm currently working on an iMac with a 500GB HDD that I would like to upgrade to a 2TB HDD however the current 500GB drive has a VMware Fusion install with Windows XP on it.
If i cloned the drive over with SuperDuper or Disk Utility will it properly image the VMWare Fusion installation and should pick up no problem where it left off?

If the Windows VM is a file on the HDD, and not a Boot Camp partition, then yes, it will copy over and work just fine.
