What is your model ID? ie Mine is MacBook 3,1 (Late 2007 2.2ghz model etc).

Check this link for max RAM + HDD your computer can handle.. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/Macbook_selector

I think yours should be able to handle 6Gb unofficially, will 100% work though.

🙂

thanks for the links, i have a macbook 3,1 🙂

Exact same as me then, I have been running 4gb (2x2) ram for 3years now, and about to order a 4gb stick, and a 120gb ssd for my baby.

Should speed it up and keep it running beyond 5years haha🙂

good luck!

Yes, you can run Lion! It won't be super fast if you don't upgrade your RAM though. However, if you upgrade the RAM and put in an SSD, you will have a completely different machine 😀. I have Lion on my white MacBook, and it runs great, but it's nothing compared to an SSD!
