I have an ancient (but trusty) MBP that is reaching the later stages of middle age and am finding that running complex Excel programmes is beginning to tax its memory. Everything I have read tells me that the memory (currently 2Gb 667mhz DDR2 SDRAM) cannot be upgraded.

My instincts tell me that there is a good reason for this but has anyone here tried to upgrade and what are the consequences? Did it work?
