I'm thinking of finally ordering the new 2.66GHz iMac and thought I might opt for the extra 2GB of memory but at £120 a pop I'm not so sure. Do I have to go with the memory Apple recommend or is there a cheaper alternative? Is it easy to install or am I better off just ordering it with 4GB and paying the stupid price?

Thanks!

given my bandwidth, I bet there are 4 answers for you already.

Get you memory from a reputable third party vendor. I personally can't recommend any in your part of the world.

Thanks, so is it easy to access and install it?

I'm UK based if anyone has any recommendations.

I just came across that seconds after my previous post and realised just how lazy I've become. Thanks.

Right, after reading through the guide I think I know what I'm doing. I'm astonished at the price difference though.
