So I bought the mini 5 cellular version at launch and I have been using it everywhere ( car, home, outdoor etc). Recently I went on a trip and stayed in a hotel and suddenly realised I wanted a larger screen for my iPad when watching movies in the hotel.

I am thinking about getting the 2018 iPad Pro 11 because of the cheaper price and the pro functions. ( 120hz display). I know the new air is out but i am not considering it. Also the reason I wanna get a 11 pro now is because I heard the rumours that the pro 11 lineup is getting cancelled next year?

So do u guys it’s worthwhile for me to upgrade or not?

thanks in advance :)

I went from a Mini 4 to a Pro 11 2018. Great device, lightning fast and possible to find for a lower price than the new Air.

I went from the iPad mini 5 to the 2020 iPad Pro 11” model and it is great. I use it all the time.

There is no confirmed truth about Apple doing away with the 11”. That is just a rumor someone started and others have blindly accepted it as fact.

I had a Mini 5 and got a 11 Pro 2018, awesome device! These so called “rumors” can’t be taken to seriously, like others have said, if it’s not coming from one of those “reliable” sources, just get what you want and be happy about it.

If money isn't an object, the 11" Pro is nice.
If the Pro features are nice to have but not necessary..maybe even the entry level iPad would suffice if you just want a larger screen.

Otherwise depends on how much you value the "pro" features.

I have my Mini 4 for years. Earlier this year, I picked up an Apple refurbished 11" iPad Pro 2018 for $550 since I was trying to see if I can use the iPad for work. (The 11" Pro can do enough work things once I found a flow that wasn't so painful! Haha 😅)

While the ProMotion is nice, when I go back to the Mini 4 or my iPhone XR, I don't notice these devices don't have ProMotion. The speakers is definitely nicer on the Pro, but personally, the Mini 4 is acceptable. I suppose you can always pair to headphones or Bluetooth speakers.

I'm finally slowing adjusting to the size of the 11" since the Mini 4's speed is painful to use in comparison. Size wise for person use, I personally still much prefer the mini size.

I have both the Mini 5 (cellular) and the iPP 11 (2018) (cellular) (and an iPP 10.5, non cellular). Horses for courses. I use both the Mini 5 and iPP 11 every day, sometimes several hours a day. Can’t imagine using only one or the other for my needs.
