MP 1,1-5,1 Upgrading MP 3,1 (2008) from Catalina to Big Sur

Using Mr. Macintosh guide to upgrade but stuck while booting from USB… mouse unresponsive on top left corner of screen. Not able to chose option to install nor “continue” button is accessible via keyboard. Any insight?
