My Apple Watch with Cellular is paired to an iPhone 8 which I intend to upgrade. Will the watch pairing follow to the new phone automatically, or will I have to call Spectrum and go through the machinations of un-pairing and re-pairing?

I wonder if they've made this easy, or NOT (phone exchanges with tech support are always lengthy and sometimes problematic).

Generally, you pair the watch yourself in watch settings. That’s how I paired mine when I got it. If you’re talking about adding a plan for it, then that would go through Spectrum, unless they allow you to add a plan through your phone settings.

Well I already have a plan with Spectrum--I was asking how easy-or-difficult it might be to move the Watch plan from my 8 to a 16, all else remaining the same i.e. my cellno transfers as same # as well.

To answer my own question, it's "Yes, the cellular watch IS automagically paired to the new iPhone when you follow the steps."

I think there might have been a screen where it asked me if I wanted to include it but in any case it worked w/o my having to call Spectrum Mobile tech support. 👍

Still, I did have a bit of trouble getting upgraded (the side-by-side method didn't work, I had to use iCloud) and it makes me wonder how people in the lower regions of the bell curve deal with it.

Since Apple sells millions of "upgrades" every year, I guess they getting better at making this easier all the time.
