Upgrading my Macbook Pro Ram

Hey Guys,

I have the early 2006 Macbook Pro which is only expandable to 2GB of ram. I currently have 1GB and would like to upgrade to 2GB. I was wondering if I'm supposed to buy just a stick of 1GB of ram and stick it in or if the ram has to be the same and I would be required to buy 2x1GB sticks? Also does anyone know the lowest latency 2x1GB ram combo?

It probably comes with 2 512 sticks, so you'll probably need 2x1GB

To confirm you have 2x512MB sticks, you can go to Apple menu > About this Mac > More Info... > Memory (on the left hand side). It'll look like the picture below, except I have 2x2GB.
