Upgrading my MBP RAM

I'm thinking of upgrading the RAM on my MBP and i want to know what brand of RAM i should get. I have the 13" 2011 MBP with the default 4GB of RAM which is already installed.

Recommendations anyone? (I want to upgrade to 8GB btw)

Oh and one more stupid question, would more RAM mean less battery life?

It doesn't really matter what brand, just make sure it's the same specs. It wouldn't reduce battery life.

I too have a 2011 13" MBP and installed Corsair 1333MHz memory.

Other brands such as Crucial, Kingston, and OWC are also a solid option.

Just make sure you get 1333 MHz, as that is what your model takes. As far as brand - whatever you can get cheapest.

I got g.skill RAM mainly because I had great service from them on my PC's RAM. Works beautifully thus far.

Alright, just one more question though. Can I upgrade the RAM myself like I did with my old windows laptop or do I need to take it to a computer store?

Get a phillips 00 screwdriver to remove the bottom shell and DIY.

I believe you can use speeds of 1600 now.
