Indeed I did.

I wouldn't get RAM without a lifetime warranty. That's as cheap as I'll go. I just got my 4 GB of G.Skill and it's great.

The question is, is it worth it?

What will I see in four gigs that I won't in two?

I'm a heavy heavy multitasker and user of Final Cut Studio 2...and haven't had too much trouble on 2gb, but would it be worth it for me to throw more in?

Check your RAM usage; do you often come close to using all of it, or do you tend to have quite a bit free? Are you getting any page-outs?

It seems to me that you won't see any benefit of upgrading RAM unless your current RAM is being taxed too heavily.

Alreight guys thanks a lot for your support. I just ordered at datamemorysystems or whatever that sites name is a lifetime warranty 2X2gb kit. Sorry for being dumb the past days in having no clue at all but you helped a lot and answered all my questions. (Admin: You can close this thread)

Thanks for your fast and great replies. Gavd I looked on the tutorial and it says that there are 2 slots for memory. One is already used so you have one more to use. It says that it only accepts 512 or 1g sticks. So how do i upgrade my MBP to 4 gb if I have 2 gb right now?

Likely you have two 1 gig SODIMMs of RAM (anyway, that's how my 2.4 MBP came), so you'll need to toss the two 1 gig sticks and replace them with two 2-gig sticks. OWC is usually good. I've had better luck with Crucial.

Indeed you are, a little. The 2.4 MacBook Pro can accept up to 4 gigabytes of PC2-5300, 667 mHz RAM. Since it's DDR2, it's best if the sticks are matched, so you buy them in pairs of 2 gig each. Since there are only two slots, he has to pull the two 1 gig sticks in there and replace them with 2-gig SODIMMs. $119 from Crucial, $95 from OWC.
