i have an imac 700 mhz with 768 mb ram

i was wondering if i should upgrade that to 1gb ram. what performance gain roughly am i looking at to increase?

thanks

Unless you are running a lot of applications at once, or you use photoshop and other programs where you use multiple large files, the upgrade probably wouldn't be worth it. If you just want to speed up your computer in general, this would be a good way to do it, but you probably wouldn't notice the speedup all too much.

I would agree, that you probably wouldn't notice much of a performance increase. If you usually have a lot of applications open at the same time, it might make switching between applications faster.
