So here's the problem: I have a 200 texting plan, and I've used 420 in the first week. At $0.20 a text, $49 is the total. If I upgrade the plan now (to the 1500 texts plan for $15) now, will I have to pay the $15 instead of the $49 for this month, or will the upgrade take effect next month?

I know I can call, but the offices are closed, and I'm kinda anxious. Plus, who knows, maybe someone else is wondering the same question.

Whenever I've called AT&T after I've exceeded messages or minutes, they've always been happy about waiving the overages if I'm upgrading (better for them in the long run) ...I've never gone over THAT much, but I can imagine it would pretty much be their policy to at least waive half or so.

Alright, thanks for the input. I'll call them in the morning and see how it goes. :D

When I downgraded my data plan, I was given the option for it to start that day going forward or retroactively to the start of the billing period.

I would have to say it may be the same for texting.
