I've got a 500GB Seagate drive that I want to put in my 20" Aluminum iMac. I can do the job. (I've built many a homebrew computer :))

However, I know how Apple gets with service and support plans, so, will this void my APP?

    Thanks in advance!

Changing your hard drive will be possibly be a warranty issue - the only user serviceable part is the RAM...

    However,

I'm unsure of the validity of this claim. In the UK, you buy a warranty, you accept their terms.

This thread has a step by step photo guide for a 24" iMac.

There's a guide here seemingly for both - so I'm thinking they'll be pretty much identical to rip apart.
