I ordered an iPhone 12 Pro via Apple and chose to keep my current "The new Verizon Plan Unlimited" plan, so I will be receiving only $250 for my current iPhone X trade-in and not $450 (if I had one of the new plans).

However, as I was checking out, I received this message:

"If you have a legacy unlimited data plan and you continue with your upgrade, you will lose unlimited data and will be put on a 2 GB plan for $30/month plus all applicable fees, charges and taxes. Upgrade and Line Access Fee not included."

Does this mean my "The new Verizon Plan Unlimited" plan will be changed to a 2GB $30/mo plan?

What if I pay for my iPhone 12 Pro in full, or if I order through Best Buy instead?

I don't think so. I think they're referring to older unlimited data plans. I had the same plan as you but opted to upgrade to the newer plan that included the 5G UW. It ended up being cheaper that what I was paying, had the same features and included the extra Disney bundle. Not bad. Couple that with getting the full $440 trade in credit. Without the upgrade, I was only offered $250 for an iPhone XR. I think it was a no-brainer.

Also on that plan—changing to new plan once iphone 12 arrives. Chatted with VZ yesterday, will actually end up being cheaper to mix and match the 4 lines on my acct (1 low, 2 mid, 1 high) than the current plan. $10/line disc for autopay is big. Would recommend looking into it, especially since you’d have to pay an extra $10/mo for 5G UWB access.
