I just bought the newest macbook pro 17 inch model, and paid almost 3000 for it. I just saw on the website that Lion OS is coming out and it looks amazing, i've never owned a macbook so how does upgrading the OS work? it is like the iphone where i just plug it into itunes or do i need to buy a disk?

You will need to buy the disk to install the operating system. However I have read here on MR that apple may offer the OS as a digital download through it's app store.

When apple release new operating systems they don't have the premium price tags that microsoft applications have.
