I'm with Sprint. I assume when the new phone arrives, I have to call Sprint and authorize the switch from an older iPhone to the new device?
My impression is that I can transfer an iPhone backup from a previous iPhone (4S and 5) running 7 or 8, sitting on my Mac or in iCloud, to the new phone? And Custom rings will not transfer over? I thought there was a thread here about this, but I can't locate it.

PS- with iOS8, I continue to get hard freezes in Safari on my iPad 2 when entering MR forum replies, especially noticed when I'm hitting the "erase" (x) key.
