I'm not sure if it's just me or a setting I need to check off, but I recorded some video at 4k 60fps on my iPhone X using the stock camera app. Wanting to see if there was a difference between uploading to YouTube, I did it twice. Once via the Camera/Photos app and on with the YouTube app. Both retain the 60fps speed but both aren't in 4k. The one via the Camera/Photos app had a box to check off HD and it came out to 1080p. The one via the YouTube app came out at 720p. Now these are quick files and I did wait like 20 minutes before seeing, just in case it needs some time to render but no, nothing. Also I'm not sure if it's also due to the fact that I'm using the High Efficiency setting with the new codecs.

Anyone else having this issue or maybe some hints?

I don't know if this will solve your problem, but have you selected Full Quality under Upload Quality in the YouTube app settings?

Yeah I did. Also after doing more research, I read that both the YouTube App and going through the Camera/Photos App caps it at 1080p. But if you go through iMovie, you can select 4k. I tried this and I can select 4k but now when the app goes to upload to YouTube it says "failed to upload to youTube" -_-

Ugh, I'm starting to get a little annoyed at Apple's approach to things. So it seems one way to get around the iMovie app not uploading to YouTube is to hard reset my phone. I did able to upload one of my videos in 4k but it looks as if 60fps aspect was lost. And when I tried to upload again, I got the same error -_- And when I tried to see if I could just bypass my phone by using my macbook pro, after using AirDrop to transfer my video, I believe the transfer downgraded my video to 1080p. It seems the only way to get the ORIGINAL quality is and size is by hooking up the iphone to the my mac and either use iPhoto or the image capture app. UGH
[doublepost=1511760949][/doublepost]Man... doing more research I found that while updating to High Sierra on your macs will allow access to these new file formats, mostly the video one, if it's mid-2015 or older it'll still only see files at the max of 1080p/240fps. My macbook pro can't even access the original files from my iphone X. OMG
