As far as I know, iPhoto is the default, and only program that comes with OS X for uploading the images on a digital camera. There is one issue I have with it, which is that when I connect my camera, I don't see an option to choose which images I want to upload. It is all or nothing. Does anyone know if it is possible to choose which images you want uploaded? If not, are there any other applicates (preferrably free) that will let me do this? Thanks in advance!

I only ever use Image Capture. Also comes standard on Macs. :)

Yup, the aforementioned Image Capture will do that just that.
