Could you provide more details including what troubleshooting steps you've already done? Have you logged out of your Apple ID and back in? Have you restarted your Apple TV? Is it up-to-date? Does it work on any of your other devices?
I’ve tried logging out twice and it still doesn’t update, not even when I watch new content.
Yes the Apple TV is updated and has been restarted more than once. I have also logged out and logged in again but it still hasn’t updated. Also the Apple TV app on my iPhone hasn’t updated either. Is it an issue with iCloud?
And it's all the same Apple ID? Could you give an example of an AppleTV+ show you've recently watched with unwatched episodes you expect to see in Up Next?
Yes the same Apple ID. I just finished watching Lord of the Rings. The next episode did not show from Amazon Prime. I haven’t watched any Apple TV + shows in a while. Amazon and Paramount always updated with new episodes in Uo Next But no longer 🙁
Maybe it's a problem on the Amazon and Paramount side. Do they show an Add To Up Next button like AppleTV+ shows do?
So after 2 days and 3 hours on the phone with Apple Care I have found a solution. I had restarted, logged out of icould, and even reset to factory default and shows were still not updating in the up-next que.
What I had to do is go into settings, apps, TV, Home Screen. Change from up next to what to watch. Then go to app switcher and close all of the apps. Go back to the settings and change from what to watch back to up next. Then my up next que started updating again.
So I hope apple care updates their support documentation because support said it seems like a bug to her. I hope this solution helps someone else in the future.
