I have family coming to town on Thursday and I don't think it would be hospitable for me to stay home all day Friday waiting for my iPhone delivery. I found my shipment in the UPS app and would like to know if it would be okay to change my delivery to the UPS facility or UPS Store for pickup? I worry that in doing so something will go hinky (because it is after all UPS) and I won't be able to get my phone until Monday.

I tried changing mine to a pickup location a few blocks from me, but it said it would delay it until Monday (6th). Someone suggested to me to call them in a few days instead.

That being said, if you hold it at a CC center, it does not change the date. If you have it delivered to a UPS store, it will delay it one business day.

If you don’t want delays have it held at your local UPS CC Hub. If you divert to a different UPS location for pickup you are usually looking at least a one day delay at the minimum. Some days you can get it the same day, but that’s rare especially with the volume of deliveries of iPhones UPS is handling that day, let alone all of their regular business.
I always hold my deliveries at the UPS CSC, not a store in my city. Every time no problems and can pickup as early as 8:30 Am. They will hold there for 5 business days also.
Almost certainly, but for a little extra piece of mind it's a good idea to call UPS and verify which hub will have your package and whether or not there will be a delay. I think there are at least 5 CC's in the DFW area, and mine used to go to the one in south Ft Worth, but now they go to their new facility in north Ft. Worth (even though the other location is still operating). I pick mine up at the UPS CC in my area every year. I also have many of my other packages throughout the year held at the CC, and I'm able to pick them up on the morning of my scheduled delivery without any delays. Also, verify the hours that the customer pickup area is available. My CC is open from 8 am to Noon and then they reopen from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Sometimes they are required to make at least one delivery attempt as well. That decision is driven by the shipper.
Even if i miss the delivery usually you can call UPS to have them save the phone to pick up later that day at the main hub. Usually, this is where all the undelivered packages go. I have done this before in the past. If you miss the package just call UPS and see if this is an option you can use.
My delivery has appeared on the UPS website as of today. But when I try to make changes to the delivery, it says that option isn't available.

UPS is terrible in my city about either leaving packages in the rain, or leaving expensive packages next to my door that require a signature. It's happened multiple times. Will never forget it was raining one afternoon several years back and I'd ordered a guitar. I happen to notice UPS leaving a big box on the porch across the street. After a few hours UPS still hadn't delivered my package so I walked over there and it was my guitar. I knocked on the door but the neighbor wasn't home so I took my guitar and left. I always try to redirect my UPS packages.
I did it for mine I paid the $60 to get it shipped to a ups store in a different state but the tracking hasn’t updated might need to wait for it to hit the states.
I wait until it's in the US, usually the night before the scheduled delivery date, then I place the hold for pickup request. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I just like to have it go through as much as the process as possible before I change anything. I typically make the hold for pickup request when I see that the package is in the main hub in Louisville (that's usually the final sorting place before it comes to DFW). Don't wait until the morning of the scheduled delivery to make the request because they might get it on the truck that's supposed to come to your house, and it'll be too late at that point.
My UPS CC is only open until 5pm - 6:30pm.

Since ATT requires that it ships under the account holders name (even though I am a authorized user on the ATT site). how does that work if I ship it to a UPS store or CC center? Does he have to come with me or can I just give them my ID (the address on my ID is the same as the shipping address with the only difference being my dads first name vs my first name)
