This is what is showing up as my tracking key

Says plain as day my Nexus 5 is here in Atlanta as of early this morning, and there was a delay due to weather (ice storm which cleared up yesterday).

I call UPS to find out WHY it's delayed, they say it's still in Nashville, TN and hasn't moved since.

I said "wait what, isn't it here in Atlanta?"

she said it isn't, hasn't moved from Nashville.

So I said that the tracking key is showing inaccurate information? It's showing that it was scanned in to Atlanta this morning, so it isn't here?

She says that's not taking into account the weather. Tracking keys are one thing, but that package is not in Atlanta, it's still in Nashville.

She says the package never left due to weather. Said the system automatically updates tracking keys.

Despite the fact that the delivery date says TODAY according to this

and says it is here. She says it's all wrong.

So is there any truth to what she said? Is the tracking thing really just a piece of theoretical fiction?

Or does that particular rep just have a massive fecal retention problem?

I don't ship much with UPS any more, but in years past, on several occasions, the website tracking page said that my package was delivered. And when I would check my front steps, it was not there. I'd check multiple times per day, and it would finally show up later in the afternoon. I think their system is fiction. But I find that hard to believe being privatized and all that.

Your package was probably sorted in Nashville and loaded onto a plane that has been grounded.

Good luck getting your package! I had my own run-in with UPS today. He left my wife's MBP from Bestbuy on the door step. My thunderbolt monitor from Apple he kept. I was in the living room the whole time and never heard a knock. I had to dress my 2yo daughter as quick as possible and chase him through town. He stopped off at a US Bank and I approached him. He probably thought he was being mugged. After bringing my monitor home, I checked the status and it was still listed as re-delever on Monday. A few hours later it changed to EXCEPTION and all of the data was gone.

SMH

what's wrong with the good ol POST OFFICE?

I've always had great experiences with them, AND it's cheaper to ship with them as well

I'm waiting on a USPS priority package right now that was shipped from GA on Tuesday, was due to be delivered yesterday and it hasn't left GA yet according to their tracking, I probably wont see it until Tuesday at the earliest.

Severe weather sucks for all carriers.

I had a Straight Talk iPhone SIM that went missing with USPS. I tracked it to Georgia and it never moved after that. Ten days later, it showed up inside of another package. It looked like a conveyer belt ate it. Since it was repackaged by USPS, the tracking label was never scanned again.

I have to say, I've had really good luck with UPS, in both tracking of stuff, deliveries and when I use them as a shipper

Yeah sometimes things are not being displayed accurately and stuff happens but overall I'm happy with it

Don't I know it.

At least it shows its still here and not saying it's elsewhere and your people saying it's not herd

My UPS package has been stuck in Knoxville TN for the past 2 days. Delivery was scheduled for Friday (yesterday) here in NY. I know it's due to the bad weather we've been having. I'm wondering when things will start moving again?

I've had numerous packages marked as delivered. That haven't showed up until the next day. I know one problem is that they have an agreement with the USPS to deliver some packages.

After it has reached distribution centers it may then be taken over by the USPS. At least that is what Amazon told me the first time I had this happen.

My package has been in Atlanta since 2AM Wednesday. Was supposed to be here Thursday. Their customer service sucks, their local service at their stores sucks since they are franchised and could give two whips, and their attitudes are even worse than the overall lack of service.

I've not had an issue with attitude or demeanor with FedEx ever. I hope UPS goes the way that the Post Office was about two and the Post Office and FedEx split their customers.

Yeah, FedEx delivered my PS4 yesterday, when they said they would.

They were delayed by the weather as well (naturally) but when it was over, deliveries continued!

Ups? Not so much.

I really wish companies would let the customer pick who ships their merchandise.

Give it a rest people. Half the friggin' country got buried under snow and ice this week. Over 14,000 flights were canceled. Relax, you'll get your toys in a few days.

FWIW, I live in an area that's received 160" of snow so far this winter. Every package I've ordered has been promptly delivered by UPS, as has every package I've shipped. No issues with tracking and I get a text message when the package is on the truck for delivery, and another once it's delivered. No complaints about UPS; they are my shipper of preference.

My experience with FedEx on the other hand, has been a disaster. Once I ordered a cheesecake from Carnegie Deli in NYC. This is a perishable item and was shipped FedEx next day air. It got to my town but FedEx waited two days before putting it on their local truck. The cheesecake had not been refrigerated and was inedible by the time they delivered it.

Irritating and inconvenient? Yes, but certainly no reason to wish FedEx go out of business and put a lot of people out of work.

All of which, and more, happened to me every single time I used UPS as a carrier or final drop point.

At least they don't cheat on tracking data.

Considering how they rip off customers, cheat on them, lie to them, deny insurance clam, steal their packages while falsifying tracking data, I DO wish they go out of business.

I'm not worried about the actual date. The crap customer service and piss poor attitudes their service and retail staff seem to always have is the problem. Why should I have any empathy in my description of the situation when they don't for their customers. The funny thing is that the drivers are the LEAST of UPS' issues. Poop flows downhill. Can't wait til they shut the doors a few years from now.

I wouldn't blame the whole company for individual worker's faults. USPS has the tendency to state attempted delivery and I never even hear a knock. Fedex throws my package from its truck to my door step. One of the UPS guys always walk up and knock on my door nicely. The tracking number is always delivered at the right time. While other UPS drivers will run up and place a note without knocking or toss the package up to the door step.

It's their policy to at least attempt to deliver every single package. If they left a note or the tracking says some sort of re-delivery, it's to save their own ass.
