I'm in Phoenix and apparently it's not available here. Mine was also slow to be loaded onto the delivery vehicle, which didn't happen until 8:40am. It's going to be a long day....

I received an email about this feature today and I've been tracking ever since. If this is accurate, UPS appears to have the most inefficient routing algorithm ever. Seriously, the truck has been on a 1/2 mile stretch of road since 9am and he keeps on going back and forth from one end to the other.

My guy is circling my house, but avoiding my street. Taking lots of left turns also.
Yeah - so frustrating! My truck was literally within walking distance half an hour ago, then went north about 4 miles! I don’t even know how the phone is going to get here by 3:00 unless he just goes straight down the street!

i think they have deliveries based on priorities.. for example, business accounts, business addresses, those who have paid priority shipping rates, etc..

if you've purchased a consumer item and paid a low (or free) shipping rate and it's being delivered to a residence..
well-- you're bottom of the barrel regarding priority for that day

Yeah, I figured it would be something like that. Still blows my mind there's not a more efficient way to do it, the truck has cross the same intersection at least 10 times today.

Had the same thing down in Tucson. I used to be able to use the feature in Charleston SC. It was "loaded on delivery vehicle" until about 9am and it finally switched to out for delivery at 9:02

I got the Follow My Delivery option too! I don't have the Premium version, but they sent me the email as soon as it went out for delivery. The truck has been circling in the neighborhoods around my house. Must be a lot of deliveries.

I thought this would be great. But after it went from the depot to my neighborhood quite quickly it has not gotten any nearer in the last 45 min. I’m not inclined to go chase down the truck and have some errands to run. I don’t want to miss it but don’t want to leave expecting I can track it and race home. I’d almost prefer not to see the location since there isn’t anything I can do to change the route or actual arrival.

UPS Choice Premium is mostly a scam. Under their normal terms you pay $40 a year to have sure-post packages delivered direct by UPS instead of USPS. Sort of doesn't matter as 1/2 the time UPS delivers my packages anyway because the driver is already in our area and they don't have to pay $$ to the USPS. Depending on your area this may be a good or a really bad thing. For example: If you have a PO Box the post office will place packages generally in a locker if they are larger than your box or have you go to the window to pickup your item. But, if you live in a building with mailboxes both UPS and USPS will leave your packages at the boxes making the service just as dicey as usps in terms of things "disappearing"

The follow my delivery thing I understood was a beta in areas where theft of packages had been on a steep rise over the past year and it doesn't have a charge attached to it. The other service they provide is the option of choosing 2 2-hour windows per year to get a package delivered. More than that and you pay $8 to get that time-slot. (but you can get the same service without having to pay the $40 annual fee, you just don't get the 2 annual ones) The company has been providing notifications by SMS to notify the day prior to a delivery, the package is on a truck for delivery, the package has been delivered, or an "exception" meaning there is a delay in your shipment or delivery. (this could be anything from the driver saw damage to the package and is returning it to the shipper. In my case it was leaking the product, it took Target 3 calls until I finally got a USA agent to fix it.)
