This is why I always choose in store pickup. May not be ideal for everyone but both UPS and FedEx are getting worse every year.
But it’s sad people cannot rely on delivery companies that get paid billions from Apple to deliver. I had a similar problem once where Apple kept asking me to send back the iPad I didn’t receive. They sent me a replacement and somehow I owed them the one that I never received. Surely Apple knows the serial number and can lock it remotely or know where it is and not with me. Was six years ago or so. Don’t know the changes in procedure but you should get your replacement instantly not have to wait another month. Sorry it happened to you.

I would choose in store pickup but it's not always convenient

UPS lost my iphone 💔💔💔

Unfortunately, there is no interest from Apple 💔
UPS told me to sleep and wake up after 8 days, and maybe we will find it.😪😴

I sent a message to Cook and told Chris.. He has been sleeping for 3 days and has not woken up and did not care that the iPhone is missing and that the delivery date has passed 3 days ago.. Apple is in silent mode 🔕

Suddenly Apple and Coca-Cola woke up, evaded their mission of selling their products, made a replacement order and said to wait another month, knowing that my order was supposed to arrive on September 19th and suddenly it changed to October 10-17th and suddenly October 20th and suddenly October 22-24th and suddenly they lost my iPhone and suddenly a new order dated a month later November 10-17th!!! And the UPS employee is enjoying my iphone now.

Finally, Apple informed me that I can enjoy my lost iPhone. 🤣😂😭
I find this style of writing quite a challenge to follow, is this sort of humour about the situation? I hope you get your issue sorted satisfactorily though. Terrible to have such an expensive purchase go missing, very bad luck indeed.

You don’t have a retail store of any kind that sells iPhones within 80 miles?

Not an Apple Store. There's Verizon and others. But I'm disabled and can't go wait in a line. I always order delivery. Never have issues with the deliveries. I need a battery for my 14 Pro Max. If I want an Apple battery, I have to drive 80 miles.

Well given your situation, sure. But if physically going to a retail store isn’t an issue, then picking up in-store is always more secure.

Even having your package held at a local UPS or FedEx is a better option.

When I bought my Mac Mini I got an email from Royal Mail saying it had been delivered. It hadn’t but thankfully I know the postman on my dog walk (he had recently moved off the route containing my house) so had a word. After a few expletives about his colleagues he said he’d track the machine down. Two hours later he brought it round, it had been delivered to an address that had nothing in common with mine and was over two miles away.

I'm the same way, have always preferred picking it up, especially since it’s an initial release of a major product from a major company. That’s why I’ve always kinda expected that there’ll be some genuine lost packages, and some possibly even stolen, from UPS, since they’re also dealing with a bunch of shipments

Me too. What has Coca Cola got to do with it? 😂

Maybe I am confused. UPS "lost" your phone so you e-mailed Tim Cook??

Exactly the same thing happened to me at exactly the same time frame. Someone is enjoying a silver iPhone 17 Pro paid for by me but lost by UPS.

Can I get Tim’s number? I have some ideas to run past him and need to shoot the sh:t for a couple hours..😳
