I just noticed that the box arriving tomorrow with my Apple Watch (38mm Stainless Steel, Classic Band) has a shipping weight of 2.8lbs. It's a bit more than what I was expecting. Granted, the USB C to VGA adapter for my MacBook came in at 0.5 lbs, but I wonder what's in the box that weighs so much.

I got to see the unboxing of an apple watch yesterday and the box is really nice....let's just say it's not what you expect! (shape-wise)

was it the watch or the sport? We have all seen the ridiculous long box the sport has. I have the same exact order as the OP (38mm SS w/ classic buckle), 2.8 pounds.

My 42mm SS w/ Milanese is 3.10 lbs.

My 42mm SS w/ Milanese shows 1.0 lb.

As for the adapter as part of the shipment - if the products are combined, that may be the dimensional weight of the package.

For a 1lb package, with a normal dimensional weight divisor of 166 for domestic shipments, you'd be looking at a package no larger than around 5.49" average length per side.

I'm not sure why yours would weigh 3.10 lbs. which would be rounded up to 4 lbs. for billing.

Did you order anything else?

Yeah it was the apple watch sport, when I saw it I definitely wasn't expecting the long box, but holding it, it did feel a bit heavier so that could explain why it is 2.8lbs. I think the stainless steel has more of a square box.

I think so too. That is what the reviews came with IIRC. Almost like a case.

I only ordered the watch and it shows 2.8..unless they shipped an extra band without telling me.

My charger is shipping separately and I'm getting it Saturday, according to the e-mail that I just got.
