I'm running a small RAID array with 7 Volumes of mirrored drives. Right now, the RAID system is run by the SoftRAID application, which doesn't like it when the computer just gets shut down, it prefers the drives safely ejected before shutdown. When it just shuts down, I end up spending the next 8 hours rebuilding the whole RAID array, and that puts us out of work for too long.

Is there such an application that will, say run a script that saves all files in particular applications, and then ejects the hard-drives nicely? I've been searching for hours with no luck.
