Hi I just got delivery of an emac that I'm going to set up for a friend then teach them to use. It just arrived today really well packed in it's original box. I think it had a pretty safe journey.

I haven't turned it on yet until I get some advice here, you can probably guess the problem. It was packed upside down, sender obviously forgot the instructions on opening them.

So it's been upside down for a week and it's been freighted but treated well. I'm most concerned about the Superdrive, do you think it could be damaged by being upside down?

Thanks.

I would say no it should not have any effect on it (unless the box is damaged). What do you think the shipping companies do when move it? It never ships upright and get tossed around in the delivery truck/airplane/train ect..

Thanks, I ended up phoning a mac repairer and they felt "fairly" sure it would be fine. I was mainly concerned about the Superdrive write head not being locked down or something.

That happened to my roomate a while back with his macbook, but everything turned out to be working fine.
