urgent assistance needed

During a failed restore, I received a 1602 message. Now my iPhone (2.0) is flashing and rebooting to sync. I have no idea what to do.

Please help. I don't need another expensive paperweight. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried again...i'm not sure how to get it to get back into the restore screen. It keeps rebooting itself and telling me to connect to iTunes. I have tried this.

any suggestions at this point would be greatly appreciated.

This happened to me while jailbreaking an Iphone 2g for a friend.

Afterwards I manually selected the restore firmware which was 2.0 for me which I download to my PC and it worked.
