urgent buying advice

My 15" mbp was recently stolen and I'm on the craigslist hunt for a new laptop today. Anyone want to chime in on a 17" previous generation mbp (2.16 core solo) for $1700? I am on my way to view it as I type this so any (quick) thoughts would've appreciated. Will I notice a huge power difference with the older chip? Does the screen size make up for it? Thanks!

The apple store carries a refurb 17" 2.2 duo for ~1700-1800 so I would pass on this deal. I just got a refurb 15" 2.2 for 1450, so I would pass on that deal.

(It is sold out today, but should be in stock tomorrow or tuesday)

i would go with the refurb at 1450. or even at 1700-1800

its a better deal, and its straight from apple.

I appreciate your responses guys. I passed on the mbp. The case was dented, the hinge out of whack, etc. Glad to have waited.
