I sell a lot of my older Apple products via Craigslist. Initially the scams were pretty obvious: broken english explaining they would like to purchase for their relative and have it shipped. They will pay extra, etc.

Lately, the scammers seem to be US based (or at least don't email in broken english). I'm getting local people, that after several emails state they are traveling for business. They ask me what we should do, hoping that I mention PayPal so that it seems like its my idea (and again, with PayPal the other person could state they did not get what you promised and you lose the funds).

Like everyone has said, cash only, local sale. You'll never have any issue selling Apple products (assuming you've priced it right), so just be patient, and worst case, sell on Amazon Marketplace or Ebay.

Good luck and be safe!
