Hi guys, I've just noticed that on my iOS Beta 6 my wifi setting (settings / wifi) shows 'Weak Security'. I've not had this before. Also, my iPad and my wife's iPhone do not show Weak Security on their wifi setting.

Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a setting on my iPhone I need to amend?

If you hit info on the WiFi network in settings, is Private address on?

Yup, it's on. I also forgot to add that I have this message in the wifi settings directly under the Weak Security 'WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) is not considered secure. If this is your WiFi network, configure router to use WPA2 (AES0 or WPA3 security type'

Had similar issue. Went in and “Forget Network”, reconnected and has not occurred since.

TKIP is no longer considered secure. Change to AES on your WIFI router and the message should go away. (WPA2/AES)

I tried this but didn't resolve for me.

I'll try that, but in any event, my iPad and wife's phone are on the same connection and those devices don't show as Weak Security.

Interesting. Are you on the iOS 14 beta? Or is there any version difference between those devices? Also FYI

I had this with a network I used, and after helping the owner change to AES I still got the message until i chose to forget the network and reconnected. In other words, forgetting and reconnecting may be necessary unless it has been changed in a later beta.

Old version of iOS don’t show that option because they don’t support detecting weak wifi and report back.

I think this weak wifi thing was there in iOS 13 but could not recall.

It is because on older versions of iOS WPA(2)/TKIP was not tagged as weak. But now it is. TKIP is not as easily hacked as WEP, but if you want a secure Wifi, AES is much better.
