I am selling my iPad and need to restore it so my personal info is erased. When I do restore with iTunes, I get "There was a problem downloading the software" error. When I click on more info, it takes me to http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275 page. I have MacBook Pro with lion and the latest iTunes (10.5.3).

How this problem can be solved? If this does not work, how else I can deleted all my apps, emails, logins, etc?

I am supposed to deliver the iPad tomorrow morning so I need to do it tonight.

Thanks

Well, obviously there was a problem downloading the software. We don't know why, but whatever, we can try another method.

Go to this website: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
and select your iPad's firmware from the list and start the download.

Once the .ipsw file has downloaded, go to iTunes, press and the alt/option key on your keyboard, and at the same time, click the "Restore" button in iTunes.

A finder window should pop up. Navigate to and select the .ipsw you just downloaded, and the restore should begin.

Tell us how it goes.

EDIT: Two days late? Eh.
