I got a new battery for the old 11" MBAir to give to a friend and once I formatted the drive upon install I got error message that disk is corrupted and won't let me perform the install.
Can I force the process before I eventually get a new SSD?
I ordered a Kingston 500SSD and an adapter, I will use it into my 13" 2015 Air and swap its OEM SSD with the 11" one (in the rush didn't check compatibility but I guess they are the same)
I think the 2012 Airs, use SATA m.2's I don't think an NVMe is going to work. I used a Sinetech adapter and a Crucial MX 500 1TB in my 2012 Air and it works fantastic.
The 2012's have a metal card and can run Big Sur with OCLP just fine. I would just make a USB installer or run internet recovery and then upgrade to your OS of choice.
- the MBAir 2012 and 2015 have different slots
- the MBAir 2012 SSD is different size than the 2015 one
I ordered wrong adapter and wrong SSD (Kingston NV1 500GB) which I wanted to use for the 2012 11" Air which I then installed into my 2015 one, I then ordered another Kingston NVME SSD and the right adapter (8 + 18 pins) which fits the 2012 Air's slot but won't fit the SSD and not the length of the Air's slot so now I am in need of the right kind of SSD which, as suggested above, should be SATA m.2, please tell me if this is correct since I quickly need to order one and to get it within the shortest and then use the Kingston on my son't 2015 Air (with another adapter like the one I already used).
See picture attached
Grazie mille
p.s. this is the adapter I bought which fits the Air's slot, the SSD apparently doesn't fit the adapter :-( or at least not gently and doesn't even cover the length of the slot so I won't be able to screw it back in place, I understand it takes an m.2 SATA SSD for the purpose but still wondering which kind it gotta be as on Amazon (Italian one) I see different plugs on such ones.

I ordered the Sintech adapter, waiting for the delivery and hopefully works flawless with an NMVE SSD which I already got, in case it doesn't the SSD goes into my son's 2015 MBAir with a different adapter and will go the AuraPro route for the 11" as it is taking too long to solve but I will give a look at your link, grazie
