USA 5W USB Adapter - Can it be used in China?

I'm wondering about the 5W USB Wall Adapter (MD810LL/A)
Will it work in China - specifically the Shanghai area?

More specifically:
1. Will it physically fit the wall outlets?
2. Is it safe to use, or will it fry the devices I plug into it?

Any helpful answers appreciated.

It won't fit straight in the socket as the pin layout is different so a travel adapter is needed but you don't need to worry about the voltage side all apple adapters are auto switching.

You will find the US 2 prong plug will work in almost every place.
Some hotel lobby's only accept the UK/HK style ugly plug. just ask front desk for an adapter.

Just a reminded, China/Japan/Tawain use the same plug as the US, but it is not grounded, so any devices that have the 3rd connector will not fit in and you'll require an adapter.

Absolutely no problem! I am living in Shanghai RIGHT NOW with all apple products. i ll show you a pic in my place and this kind of stuff is almost every. i guess it can fit with almost all kinds of adapter.

Thank you all for the helpful info. I discovered the same - that my US one is fitting just fine in these sockets over here. Why did I buy the World Travel Adapter Kit again?

So I've been using my chargers which have the transformer bricks attached, but still haven't dared to plug in my 5W (the one included in the iPhone box, that is the subject of this thread) because I don't know if it will fry my iPhone or not. Yes, it may fit physically, but will it step down the power safely?

Yes -- they're world adapters. Don't overlook prior threads or the specs printed on the charger itself.
