USA Estimate times on custom order?

Hi, placed an order today for a MBP 16g, 256gb. The estimate says Dec 17-Dec24th. Are these dates reliable? Anyone have received theirs before/after estimate?

I've seen reports of these shipping before the reported window... HOWEVER, we're in the midst of a Pandemic and holiday season when shipping times tend to slip due to excessive volume.

From what I understand, all custom builds ship from overseas, so that adds customs into the mix.

I ordered a MacMini with 16GB and 512SSD two days from the opening for ordering. No change in a week long range of delivery dates in mid-December (unfortunately). I suppose there is really no accurate way to rely on a delivery date given (as others have said) a “custom” order, popularity, the Pandemic, and the holidays. An added potential obstacle is that I live in a snow belt. Sigh 🙄.

Mine was running a few days ahead of schedule, but then it encountered an “exception” and got delayed in Korea for two days. Arrived this morning, one day ahead of the original schedule.

I expect that the holidays will add to the uncertainty, as will the Covid spike.

I ordered a 16GB/2TB model and it was promised Dec. 15-22.

Now, UPS shows “Rescheduled Delivery” and “check back later.” It was supposed to have left Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok airport on 12/9 but last night it suddenly showed it left on 12/13. Have no clue what’s going on, but I guess it’s going to be late now. 🙄

Mine was a base unit and arrived on time from a California warehouse instead of China.

Your order will probably come from China being an upgrade.

You might get lucky and find one at your local Apple Store if you check daily...

My wife ordered my M1 Mac Mini Nov. 13th. Finally showed shipped on Nov. 30th. Arrived Dec. 7th. That's our timeline, for what it's worth. 😉

My 16g/1TB MBP was schedule December 11-18 and arrived on the 8th (from Shanghai).
