In that one place
Back years ago I had a USB 2 card for my Sawtooth G4. I unfortunately donated said machine in 2008 when I switched to Intel. Now I'm back with a newly acquired Quicksilver 933. I need a USB 2 card to easily transfer files without networking between the Quicksilver and my other computers. The Quicksilver serves as a scan station for my Nikon LS-2000 as it can batch scan instead of me manually feeding my other scanner.
Also I like to play old games.

Would this USB 2 card work? I remember my card actually worked under OS 9 and X but that was over 20 years ago and I have a fuzzy recollection of it. I do remember I couldn't sleep the computer with the card installed, is that right?

Should work.

On pic 3 of that auction it has a double ** that mentions USB 2.0 speeds on OS X systems running OS X 10.3 and higher. I figure they wouldn't bother putting that in there if it didn't work on a Mac. Adaptec also has a rep for being very friendly to Mac.

Other suggestions…Sonnet and SIIG.

Adaptec, Siig, Sonnet & Sabrent are my branded go-tos (all in my powermacs) but to Red dragons point, unbranded open box auctions for example - look for a NEC chip and you should be ok. I have a couple unbranded that have the VIA chip that I pulled out of recycled winboxes and have worked for me in powermacs but are glitchy providing inconsistent connectivity. I do not recommend those. Go with the known working brands/NEC chip IMO.

Best of luck to you.

i myself have had a very small handfull of VIA chipsets that only work in 10.4. other than that, i go NEC all the way for OS 9 up to 10.5.8 for ppc macs.

only drawback is that usb 2.0 only shows up as 1.1 speeds in os 9. other than that, full 2.0 in os x. maybe thats why i like firewire more so for os 9

This Belkin F5U200/F5U220 card used to be the go-to card back in the day. It has the NEC chip. You may find clones of it with a green PCB.
