Is there a USB 3.0 adaptor for a Macbook Pro 17" Mid-2009? If there is, my primary purpose is to transfer data from my internal SSD drive to a new 4TB external hard drive which requires USB 3.0 connection. Please advise. THANKS!, Joseph.

USB 3 is backwards compatible with USB 2, so you should be able to just plug it in and have it work. If you have a cable that plugs into both, it should work.

USB is backwards compatible, plugging in a USB 3 device in a USB 2.0 or 1.1 port will work, albeit not at USB 3 speeds.
