Is there a USB 3.0 adaptor for a Macbook Pro 17" Mid-2009? If there is, my primary purpose is to transfer data from my internal SSD drive to a new 4TB external hard drive which requires USB 3.0 connection. Please advise. THANKS!, Joseph.
USB 3 is backwards compatible with USB 2, so you should be able to just plug it in and have it work. If you have a cable that plugs into both, it should work.
If you want an express card solution and are running the latest version of OS X you can get this nice Fresno Logic card, will work natively. Thats the one I have but it's almost out of stock . You can try to get that one but its sold out unfortunately. Anything with the FL1100 chipset should work out of the box. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F87RP4O?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
