(crosspost from MacRumors news thread)
Hmm...not convinced by this so called USB 3.0 speed
Lexar 64GB 600x Speed
310 files, just over 5GB of data. iPad Pro, 3minutes 15 seconds
iPhone 6S Plus, 3 minutes 37 seconds
That's not the big difference I was expecting! Desktop PC Lexar USB3.0 reader, 60 seconds for the same data
I suspect that because it is many files rather than one big file, that the speed of transfer is dictated by the processing of the pictures more than the transfer rate itself.
The bottleneck of the data transfer speed, as mentioned by many forum members before, is clearly not at the Lightning port.
Does it charge the iPhone 6s plus faster if I connect the other end to the usb 3.0 port of a MBP vs. to an iPad power adapter?
I just bought an adapter, how do I know if it's the 3.0 version?
the item number. also the description of it on the web page should state if its the latest one.
i got this one direct from apple online so i would not have any issues.
Could anyone please confirm the model number on the 3.0 adapters?
Post your model number....
I got it from a retailer a few days ago, not apple.
What are the 3.0 ones?
A1595 is on the one I have. Purchased direct from apple.com
If you look on the very bottom of the box, there's this [usb3.0], the Apple Store price sticker may cover this as the box is narrow but it should be there underneath
