Given the new AC WiFi speeds on the AirPort Extreme, does anyone know of a USB 3.0 AC adapter which works on a Mac? More precisely I am looking for one for a Mac mini 2012.

Haven't seen a USB 3.0 one yet. Asus and Netgear have AC adapters (USB 2.0) if you want to consider it.

Thanks.

I don't think USB 2.0 would be too different to what I currently get on my mini and Airport Extreme (Gen 5) which is a 450Mbps transmit rate.

There is a few USB 3.0's around but they all seem very chunky and only for Windows 🙁

Eg

Yeah I saw those too 🙁 At least you would get the beamforming technology with the 2.0 adapter with the similar transmit rates.

Hey guys!

I had the same question and as you all and happened upon this thread today. Looks like I'm fortunate enough to be coming in after the technology has matured a bit further and can share another solution now available.

$40 on Amazon...qualifies for the prime shipping too. Can't beat that!

Nice work. Compatible with OS X too. Have you used it? Anyone else tried it?

Do a google for "OSX edimax 80211.ac AC1200 review"

I can't post a link to any external site but the first few hits should take you where you need to go for real world reviews with OSX.
