My guess would be no. Apple and Intel seem to be trying to skip USB 3.0 in prep for Lightpeak which should be available as early as late this year. :(

It was supposed to be available as early as early this year.

Hopefully USB 3 will happen, but it would involve a 3rd party board that Apple would have to add. That doesn't mean it won't happen, it just means it's unlikely.

And I'm sick of people saying (or insinuating) USB 3 is dead because of Light Peak. Light Peak is not a replacement for USB.

No. Not in this one. I don't expect apple to update any major redesign with this update.

Apple holds Macbook/imac/MBA event around the time in October for holiday shoppers. In 2009, iMac received redesign. In 2010, MBA received redesign. What's next? hmmmm.....

I expect MBP to receive major redesign in Fall 2011.

I doubt there will be a major overhaul to any of the laptops. Maybe they get smaller but the cases won't change.

I don't see it happening in this refresh just for the fact that apple does not seem to adopt these kinds of things early on.

So what's the deal with Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 ?
Is it possible to use Thunderbolt as a USB 3.0 connection (with an adapter)?
