My Mac Pro 7,1 was great in regards to cards and expandability. I had several PCI cards that gave me more USB power. So when I got the Mac studio, I didn’t even think about it. So I’m thinking my controllers are zapping USB. I shut down all of the USB peripherals that I didn’t need. I have all kinds of hard drives, SSD’s and some other things all running at the same time. So I kept a dock a few hubs with only two SSD‘s a few audio controllers, that always worked. I rebooted Mac and now I have this notice that that says “USB accessories disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to reenable USB devices.” Well, that would be great if somehow it told me what accessory was drawing too much power. Because I’ve unplugged everything except the essentials which all ran before. Any clues out there? I’d like to get more USB power giving me more ports. I think this OWC thunderbolt dock I bought is draining. This is a Mac Studio M4 Max.

If you're getting a warning:
“USB accessories disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to reenable USB devices.”

Well... it looks like the solution will be to connect FEWER USB devices so that they don't all draw too much power (in total).

Docks/hubs should have their own power supplies, no exceptions.

Something else to try:
1. Power down, all the way off
2. Remove the Studio from wall power for 1-2 minutes.
3. Re-connect to power and then power back on.
No promises...
(I believe this "resets" the serial buses...?)
