    Hi folks,
I need to do this thing: as soon as I connect an usb device (with a given VendorID/ProductID) to my Mac, I want OSX to recognize that the device is connected and than run a shell script on the terminal. Is it possible?

Just for your information, the usb device is a board with an FPGA, and the shell script that I want to run is the one that installs the firmware onto that FPGA.

    Thank you for your help!

Here is a sample from Apple that should accomplish what you are looking for. You can compile it and run it as a command-line app, I believe.
