usb boot

    i have a imac g5 with a EMPTY hard drive in it. i put the tiger.dmg on a usb but how do i boot from it?

    wait does that mean it could destroy my satas? i have a imac g5

    plus i dont have any other mac only a windblows pc

    No, I get mine with an defect Harddrive. So I have to install it on an second USB Drive. Your SATA don´t get hurt.

    and i switched to the messed up hard drive from my Powermac g5

    how do i boot to the installer from my flash drive

    the flash drive is not showing up in my list of bootable drives

    A much more reliable way to boot from USB is to "burn" the image to the flash drive. In Disk Utility, you would use the "restore" function to "restore" the image to the desired volume.
