I purchased an onther one, the one with a flexible cable: does not work either. Ended up getting the one from Apple: working perfectly

Would you describe what you bought, or leave the link of the product for the future reference?? ;)

Did anyone purchase online too?
I received it today but yet to test it out (only can do so once my rMB arrives).

Damn... I ordered 4. Neither work. I'll try to "return" them now. Shipping from Norway would cost 5 times more than what the product is worth.

You better haggle about partial refunds without sending the defected products all the way back to the Shenzen/HongKong. It's unfortunate, but you can save your time rather than small money.

I bought the same one as OP. Does not work. Got half what is cost refunded. Couldn't be bothered to haggle about a couple of dollars so i let it go.

Thanks for the heads up. There should be a list made of
all these faulty USB C adapters for everyone to reference.

I will do that. I want a full return then I will give neutral feedback. If they do not return me in full I'll will give them a negative feedback. I bought 4 and neither of them works. There must be hundreds out there that has bought this sh**.

I guess that is the price to pay for being parsimonious.

There is nothing wrong with trying save some money but sometimes money saved in not a bargain:rolleyes:

I did the same with another cable and here's what I found out, they are not faulty!

The USBC port on the rMB requires proper wiring and I assume some sort of chip/electronics to become a two way adapter. Most of these "adapters" are just pass through wiring and will work on basic USBC devices, but not the rMB. I plugged my adapter into a USB Hub and it did send a charge to the rMB but wasn't recognized as a hub. But when I bought the Apple adapter like magic the hub shows up.

Moral, don't buy non-proven USBC adapters.

Keep the updates coming. Useful info to many here.

Obviously, the cheap deals on many import items are scams and Amazon or many resellers are not to blame until reports come in.

The few Monoprice USB C cables are likely good. The OP's original item is available at MP for 8 bucks and change, so double the price of the amazon item, but it's 8-9 bucks. How hard is it to punch out a 10 spot for a better chance at success? Really?

Yes it's the one I received that is not working...
Edit: Even with the same image saying "not plugged, full plugged". That's the one not working !!

That is interesting, since there were so many reviews that said it worked fine for them. Oh well, if it doesn't work, it is easy to get a refund from Amazon. The main reason I got it there was because I thought that they weren't available from Apple and the free Prime 2 day shipping is hard to beat. I will see if it works on Friday.
