Send me a link to a USB-C Male to USB-C Female extension. I don't see them.

same problem here. i have the apple digital A/V connector but the cable is too short to hide the big white box. I've been looking for a simple box with 2 usb-c female connectors that i can run male usb-c cables from to add length to hide the unit but the best i can find is a USB convertor box.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018FXW0VK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

its £20, its aluminium and the cable looks long enough for me to slip behind my desk. i plan on plugging the digital A/V into the power inlet which should transfer data also.

when it arrives ill keep you posted on if it works or not.

*update* I've just had a moment to find some reviews on that connector and i just cancelled my order! doesn't look like it will do what i want.

both data transfer and scalable power charging (whatever that means...)

Scalable power charging means extra lines in the cable to wire other voltages and current ratings, then the 5V/500mA of the current USB2.0 standard.

And extension cable must not do much more than add some feet of wire to increase the distance between the actual overpriced Apple usb-c adapters and the MacBook 12.1".

But there is much more to come soon, at lease hopefully:

This is a charger with even more ports of the expensive Apple usb-c adapter AND offers the ability of bigger distance between MacBook and adapter. More expensive than an extension cable, but more versatile: You can charge your phone or tablet and bluetooth gadgets too.

Google Click Identifier removed from link. Seems a bit odd for a brand new user to join and resurrect a months-dead thread directing people to an upcoming kickstarter with a tracking link. Maybe I'm just too suspicious. Or maybe a shill. Time (and Newton2k1's continued participation) will tell the real story. ;)

If you want something that's currently shipping, see https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/usb-c/owc/usb-c-dock
I have no connection with OWC nor do I own one of these at this point.

[doublepost=1462914513][/doublepost]I've been thru the the OWC USB-C dock some months ago - basically since I got the MB12" last autumn. The OWC thing needs a separate AC adapter and is got only one USB-C port to power the MB. Simply comparing the specs of the Kickstarter idea let me discard the idea to get the OWC dock. The Mofily Marble comprises the AC adapter too, thus one may use it very likely to charge two USB-devices and another USB-C device at the same time.

BTW, I found this thread by searching for an USB-C extension cable, which is with 9 bucks probably cheaper then anything else and will let me at least move the computer freely on my desk and hide the clutter of the cables.

Regarding your post, deeddawg, I'm suspicious that it might really not worthwhile to post in a forum. I'm surprised how fast people get upset about information of others. But it's basically very easy: If you don't like it - don't read it. I'll definitely wait for The Mofily Marble solution. If they don't do it, then I might do it for myself.

When you enter a forum and act the same way a typical shill does, don't be surprised that someone raises that possibility. If that ruffled your feathers, perhaps you should take your own advice; "If you don't like it - don't read it."

I'll consider that Marble once it's actually shipping. If I need a dock at that point, and if seems a suitable option. At present it's nothing more than pretty pictures on a website. As you undoubtedly know, there are multiple vendors who've promised docks for months only to ship late (if at all). Among those, some have experienced issues, so even "shipping" isn't a guarantee of suitability yet.

Did anyone ever end up finding a working extension cable? Like the original poster, I'd like to have a small hub hidden underneath my desk to provide video, ethernet, and USB-A, with a single cable coming up the desk. The OWC is bigger than I'd like and doesn't work for driving DVI (Apple Cinema Display). Monoprice has a couple that would work perfectly, but the cord is very short (like most of these adapters).

I found this one: http://usbfever.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=17_301&products_id=2708, but it looks similar to the one referenced here from last year that didn't work.

Unlikely that any of them work. They look exactly the same. I've been checking periodically also (just a day ago, BTW).

Any update on this problem as all the USB-C hubs I've found seem to have very short cables to connect them to your device with the assumption being (I guess) that they're designed for using "on the move" rather than leaving at a static location and tucking them out of sight?

I've just spent all morning getting my MacBook Pro (cheap version) up and running. I use ethernet, HDMI, and several USB 3.0 plugins so my hub possibilities were limited. I got the Juiced Systems hub (Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J391C3W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
with the plan to use extension cables to keep it out of sight on my desk. I ordered two of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FM4ZWV0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - one for only charging and one for the hub.

They work fine for charging, and work with the hub... BUT they are incompatible with my Logitech receiver: the computer doesn't recognize the receiver is plugged in. My new problem is that the logitech receiver is also sensitive to all the electricity flowing here and there in the hub and has to be placed justright to avoid stuttering and freezing my mouse/keyboard. So far the best solution is using a second USB 3.0 hub and placing it as far from other wires as possible.

If I have to buy a new keyboard & mouse, Apple is shoving me farther into the future than I intended to go - the only problem is that the Logitech K750 is the best dang keyboard I know of, and the only wireless option with 10-key. Not sure where to go from here...

Could you let us know if the extension cable is working.
I have this one

https://www.amazon.com/Extension-TU...-6&keywords=usb+c+extension+cable+male+female

but it is not recognizing my usb 3.0 HDD most of the time. When it does it only delivers usb 2.0 speed.

It works alright for power delivery and HDMI (2560x1440)

Perhaps this is something for you?

However for now, I have to agree. There is currently nothing available in the area of keyboards that hooks up straight to USB-C. I find this strange, especially considering Logitech has had enough time to make such a version for their unified receiver. But perhaps the market is still too small for them?

The cable is working fine so far. I run power, HDMI, ethernet, and a flash drive through it at all times. The hub gets a little hot but that's to be expected of something so small, I guess. I moved my Logitech receiver from the USB-C hub to its own port with a USB-A to C adaptor.

Woah, that is good lookin. I'll give it a shot.

I am mostly interested in power delivery, HDMI and usb3.0 HDD. All at the same time.

Besides the Tushita one (only USB2.0. Most of the time no usb3.0), I have an E-bay cheap extension cable that has usb3.0 but no HDMI.
I would like one that has all. Minimum length 1m.

Thanks for the link to this USB-C extension cable!
Unfortunately for me, 3ft/1m will not be long enough :-( . I need 6ft/2m or 10ft/3m to have the hub inside my living room's sideboard.

They are available and I personally ordered one but we are just waiting on delivery to see if they work. Some have got their and reported that they do not work. If all of us get one and are non functional than they are simply incompatible.

I got two extension cables and tried them with an Apple HDMI-USB3-USB-C dongle and also with a normal extension cord from Apple, which comes with the 12" MB.

All with no success. It seems that these extension cables I got are not capable of delivering enough power to the 12"MB. The charging indicator starts to flash and the background LED's are flickering. But the USB connection to a DELL adapter worked and the LAN connection and to an HDMI Monitor worked, but all without connecting the 29W AC adaptor.

In December 2016 I got a Marble AC adapter (http://marble.mofily.com/) which works fine with the included short (25cm) USB-C extension cable. When I replace this short cable with the 2m Apple cable, then the HDMI is no longer working.

Beside that devices on the USB3 or USB-C like e.g. iPhones or iPad will not always automatically show up in iTunes. I assume that the longer Apple cable, which is thinner than the Mofily cable, has less wires or maybe other shielding and is not capable to transfer full HDMI speed.

Sometimes I have to force the mounting of USB3 devices by power cycling of the Marble AC adapter, which is acceptable for me. We may hope that the people at Mofily will improve their design further and maybe provide also longer extension cables with better data rate.
