USB C Magic Keyboard date?

I was hoping and expecting that a Magic Keyboard with TouchID would be announced with the Mac Pro at WWDC this year, but obviously this hasn't happened yet. What is the next most likely date for the USB C keyboard to be released? I have a 2023MBP, and would love to use TouchID on my external desktop keyboard. Should I wait or get the lightning version?

My bet would be this October, since it follows the introduction of USB-C iPhones and October will likely be a Mac event. But it's based on pure speculation, I didn't see any rumor so far for USB-C accessories (except AirPods)

I’m in the same boat - needing a new keyboard and trackpad but want to wait till they have USB-C. Hoping it’s October!

Also waiting (eagerly) for this. I believe moving the whole "magic" family (keyboard, trackpad and mouse) to USB-C should be easy enough. Apparently, it isn't. Not so magic, after all.

I expect all Mac peripherals will be updated with the next Mac event, which is likely Spring next year since recent rumors don’t expect an M3 announcement in 2023.
